Macdonald Houstoun House Hotel Uphall

I had a fantastic stay at this hotel! The staff were incredibly friendly and welcoming, making me feel right at home. The room I was given was excellent - very comfortable and well-appointed. The hotel facilities were top-notch, with a lovely pool that had beautiful views of the surrounding trees. The location of this hotel was great as well, as it was conveniently close to the train station, making it easy for me to explore nearby Edinburgh. The breakfast served in the morning was absolutely delicious, with a wide variety of tasty options to choose from.

Nothing could have been better.

We had a very comfortable and spacious family room with a king bed for two nights. The food at Macdonald was excellent both evenings, and the market menu had a good variety. The location was nice, and we enjoyed using the swimming pool. The staff were friendly and helpful throughout our stay.

The spa had nice facilities and friendly staff. The bedroom was large with a comfortable bed. The location was quiet with good parking. The grounds were lovely. The bed and pillows were comfortable.

The hotel is conveniently located near the villages where we had an event, and it is close to Uphall train station. Our room was spacious and comfortable, with a big and well-equipped bathroom. The staff were friendly and accommodating, and the check-in and check-out process was smooth. We enjoyed a delicious dinner at the Jeremy Wares restaurant, which is located within the hotel premises. The breakfast was also enjoyable, and the hotel grounds were well-maintained.

The prices in the bar were quite expensive.

The staff were friendly and helpful, and the room was clean and comfortable. the amenities such as the bar and garden area were nice, and the food served for dinner was enjoyable. the gym was well equipped and the swimming pool was immaculate and well laid out.

The breakfast experience was disappointing, with poor quality orange juice and cheap sausages. the tables and chairs in the bar area were not ideal for an evening meal.

We loved staying at this hotel. The location was perfect as it was away from the busy street and surrounded by quiet gardens. The service exceeded our expectations; the room service, housekeeping, and laundry services were exceptional. We also appreciated the welcome drink, in-room amenities, and terrace area. The dining experience was enjoyable with a delicious breakfast and extensive special diet menus. The on-site facilities of the fitness centre, indoor and outdoor swimming pool, and spa services were an added bonus.

Definitely recommend this place to anyone who values quality service, top-notch amenities, and a welcoming atmosphere.
